History

1970

Centros Educativos San Cristóbal was founded in 1970, inspired by the commitment and enthusiasm of  Mr.Cristóbal Bellés Herrero and Mrs.Consuelo Gimeno Gimeno to educate children from early childhood and to prepare young people for adult life.

1973

The first centre opened its doors in Castellón in June 1970, in a two-story house located at number 32, Tenerías Street. It started as an academy of refresher courses. In 1973 the old buildig was demolished and a new six-story building was built, where the first and second years of Aministration vocational training programmes were introduced.

1978

In 1976, a 2000 m² plot was acquired in the Rafalafena area, where the Nursery School was built to accommodate 200 students. In addition to this, from October 1978, the first and second levels of Early Childhood Education training programmes were also introduced.

1990

In September 1990, the San Cristóbal School of Tourism was opened on Lagasca Street, offering the University Diploma in Tourism studies (the first university-level in Tourism studies in the province of Castellón). That same academic year, Cristóbal, the founders son, joined the project, followed later by his brother Juan Carlos.

2003

In 2003, due to the growth of its centres and with the aim of offering a comprehensive and quality education to the society of Castellón, the new educational complex located in San Jorge del Maestrazgo street was inaugurated, where the facilities were extended and improved. Primary, ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and Bachillerato (Baccalaureate) were introduced completing all the educational stages. New vocational training programmes we also authorised.

2025

San Cristóbal School was accredited as an IB World School. Following the implementation of the Diploma  Programme in 2017 and the addition of the PYP and MYP in 2025, the school now offers the complete IB continuum, guaranteeing international educational excellence from Early Years to Baccalaureate.
