Autonomy, self-esteem and responsibility

The Montessori methodology, which originated in Italy, is both an educational approach and a philosophy. It was developed by Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator, drawing on her experiences working with children at risk of social exclusion. Her approach was founded on respect for children and their remarkable ability to learn. She viewed children as the hope of humanity, believing that by allowing them to exercise freedom from an early age, they would develop into adults capable of facing life’s challenges. The teaching materials she designed are organised into different learning areas with a view to helping students explore and understand the world around them. Its goal is to support the holistic development of children, fostering both their intellectual and physical abilities.

In 45-minute sessions, children aged 18 months to 3 years learn to become self-sufficient in a calm and nurturing environment. The classroom, specially designed in accordance with the Montessori methodology, has more neutral colours than those typically found in children's classrooms. It contains real tools and materials adapted for the youngest children, allowing them to engage in activities of varying complexity and practice everyday tasks to become familiar with them.

Practical life
Activities related to practical life are those that we carry out in our day-to-day life. These activities help children learn to feed themselves, care for themselves and others, as well as their surroundings, developing independence, order, coordination and concentration, which build confidence and boost self-esteem.


Sensorial
Children aged 0 to 3 years learn about the world through their senses. In the area of psycho-sensory-motor development, children practice coordinating gross (body) and fine (hand) movements with visual precision. Moreover, we offer a variety of sensory experiences to help children explore smells, shapes, tastes, textures and sounds..., allowing them to discover and engage with the world around them..


Maths
We use games and songs to spark an early interest in mathematics, helping children recognise numbers and understand quantities.


Language
We foster language acquisition through the phonetics of the letters, flashcards and grammar in general.


Culture
We foster their interest in science, geography, art, music, zoology, botany and languages.
