Guidance and Educational-Psychological Support

The School Guidance Department seeks to support the holistic development of students(personal, academic, professional, cognitive, emotional and social), while assisting the school and its teachers in fostering a holistic education and adapting teaching and learning processes to meet students’ needs.

Our Educational Institution’s institutional responsibilities encompass guidance and psycho-pedagogical support. We optimise the teaching and learning process by fostering psychosocial development through a number of intervention approaches:

• Prevention and detection of needs

• Specific support to students with educational needs

• Student guidance and tutoring

• Teacher support

• Psychological and pedagogical intervention

• Educational counselling for families.

These various intervention methods are carried out through the following actions:

• Carrying out psychopaedagogical evaluations to detect and address learning challenges.

• Personalised action plans based on the needs of each student.

• Learning strategy development plans.

• Vocational counselling and guidance

• Educational counselling for families

• Teacher training in current psychopaedagogical knowledge.

• Development of specific actions within the Tutorial Action Plan and the Coexistence Plan.
  

To carry out these actions, Colegio San Cristóbal has:

• Support teachers (speech therapist, special education teacher, educators)

• Psychopaedagogical counsellors (psychologist and educational psychologist)

• Training and career guidance teacher

• Science and technology support teacher
