International Baccalaureate continuum

Coherence at every stage, support for every student

As an IB World School authorised for all three programmes, we offer a coherent educational approach from Early Years to Baccalaureate: the same principles, assessment with clear criteria and a team that knows every student. This continuity benefits both those who start with us at the age of 3 and those who join in any other year, because our project is designed to welcome, support and help every student grow from wherever they are.

IB World School: continuum

IB World School authorised for the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes.

Educational coherence

Each stage builds on the previous one: habits, routines and ways of learning evolve gradually, without disruption.

An internationally recognised approach

From the PYP to the Diploma, students develop the attributes of the IB learner profile: inquiring, thinking critically, communicating and reflecting.

Personal support

Tutors and the Counselling Department follow each student’s progress year by year and through every change of stage.

Considering a change of school for your child? We know it is an important decision for the whole family. In Early Years, Primary and Secondary, students can join in any year, with a welcome process coordinated by their tutor and the Counselling Department so that they settle in confidently and at their own pace. In a personal visit, we will explain how it would work in your child’s case.

Frequently asked questions about our educational stages

What educational stages does Colegio Internacional San Cristóbal offer?
Nursery School, first cycle (ages 1 to 3); second-cycle Early Years and Primary with the PYP (ages 3 to 12); Secondary with the MYP (ages 12 to 16); the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the Spanish Baccalaureate (ages 16 to 18); and intermediate and higher vocational training through FP San Cristóbal.
Where is each stage taught?
The Nursery School is at Calle Moncófar, 6, in an independent building. From second-cycle Early Years to Baccalaureate and Vocational Training, classes are held at the main school, Calle San Jorge del Maestrazgo, 2. Both buildings are in Castellón de la Plana (12003).
Can my child join part-way through a stage?
Yes. In Early Years, Primary and Secondary, students can join in any year, with an adaptation process coordinated by their tutors and the Counselling Department. The best option is to speak to our admissions team about your particular case.
International Baccalaureate or Spanish Baccalaureate?
It depends more on the student than on their grades. The Diploma Programme requires more independent and written work, and makes sense if the student is motivated by research or is considering studying outside Spain. The Spanish Baccalaureate is the direct route to the PAU and a university degree in Spain, with two tracks to suit each profile. The Counselling Department supports this choice with every family.
What qualifications do students obtain?
At each stage, the corresponding official Spanish qualification, as the Valencian curriculum is followed in full. Students who complete the Diploma Programme also obtain the IB Diploma. Vocational training leads to the official Técnico (intermediate level) or Técnico Superior (higher level) qualification.
What does it mean that the school offers the IB continuum?
It means the school is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization to teach its three school programmes: the Primary Years Programme (ages 3 to 12), the Middle Years Programme (ages 12 to 16) and the Diploma Programme (ages 16 to 18). A student can therefore follow the same educational approach from the age of 3 until they finish the Baccalaureate.
